How To Conquer Loneliness: Years of experience as a media personality and a broadcaster, has given Kay the opportunity to come into contact with many listeners, who she discovered sometimes had a desperate need to talk with a person whom they knew they could really trust.

With her gift of patience and of having a deep understanding of why people need that someone special to talk to, she was able to provide her listeners with valuable and quality time exactly when they needed it most. Being a good listener gave her immense satisfaction. A small contribution she says, but one with real substance.

Kay says:

"It is not everyone who can do this effectively. And I am glad that I have been able to put my talents in this area to good use. Today people are all so busy no one seems to have the time to listen to anyone. Yet it is an absolute need for every one to be able to talk to someone even if only of the daily events and happenings. Its become a world of cut and dry conversation. Conversation has taken an almost business like approach. Certainly that's not enough. It is the need of every soul to think aloud, to have someone to share their experiences with. So here I am."

E-Music Den: Kay has been involved with the music industry as a recording artist and a composer.

Her experience has given her great insight into the workings of the music industry and the needs of the artists. She understands that artists who have to be totally involved with the musical side of the business may not always be able to promote themselves. Good songs can be created or bought but without promotion it will not amount to much. In the end promotion is the name of the game.

It takes years of constant promotion to bring the artist to be recognised. The fan base is usually cultivated by those who have been growing with them and their music. And as the artist becomes more polished the word about them and their work have to be brought to the fans repeatedly, before fans travel from near and far to buy tickets and listen to them.

The snowballing effect is simply dependant on how much they are hearing and seeing of them. Major record companies usually are attracted by artists not just for their talents but mostly because these artists are more capable of handling their promotions initially by themselves or because they have been lucky to find a good manager.

Moreover promotion is very costly and some artists can not afford it easily. It goes without saying that artists need both outstanding music and promotion to withstand the pressures of time and competition. Many good songs have never reached the audiences for the lack of promotion. It is a tragedy to see true talent left behind because of a lack of resources. A loss for both the artist and the fans.

E-Music Den will aim to promote deserving artists for an affordable price on the net and make their music available for fans to be able to listen to them again and again. E-Music Den will be a starting point for many artists.

About Kay: Kamalini Malhotra has been a very popular broadcaster on SBS from 1975 to 1989. She has produced, written and presented more than 2000 programs. She has composed many signature tunes and jingles for programs on the radio.

Kamalini Malhotra is a composer and a singer who has 5 albums with Polydor/Music India. She has been signed for an album with Concord Records, for 2 albums with ABCL and an album with Tarana Music. Gulshan Kumar of T series invited her to be signed for a life contract. All the albums to date were composed by her and she also penned a few songs. She intends to make more albums in the near future and intends to sing in a few Hindustani Films.

Her talent was discovered by the famous Pakistani Music Director Mr Sohail Rana and she received invitations from EMI Pakistan and Asghar International NY to make albums with them.

She has organised many shows and events as she believes it is always good to know all aspects of the business you are in.
